Hello,

Could anyone please help in navigating to a script or fishtank package that calculates the energy components in a rock specimen after triaxial testing?

Thanks.

Thank you for your use of PFC. There is a material modeling support package that supports creation and rock-lab testing of bonded-particle materials (see x). That package does not support monitoring energy quantities during the test; however, it would be relatively straightforward to add such monitoring. Energy monitoring in PFC2D models of rock cutting is described in the memo that can be downloaded from the link: [ShareFile](https://itasca.sharefile.com/public/share/web-s95c5dcb25ffc4eeca98a42c8fdfab7c9)

Thank you David for your quick reply and for your support.

To provide a bit more context, I am currently working on simulating the energy budget of earthquakes using PFC3D. My goal is to estimate the energy components: strain, kinetic, fracture, frictional, and dissipated energy during the deformation of a rock specimen under triaxial compression test.

I have an old version of the FISH file attached, and I would like to kindly ask if there is an updated version available. If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it with me , as it would be extremely helpful for advancing my research.

Best regards,
Alaa

I just saw this now as I do not closely monitor this venue. You have a data file for monitoring acoustic emission. That work was done by Jim Hazard back in the early 2000’s. We do not have any updated version of this work, but anything that it does can still be done with PFC; however, the command structure and FISH access was changed rather dramatically with version 5, and so this will require updating and rewriting the FISH code.

Thank you so much for your response. I have contacted Jim Hazzard and he has provided me with the updated version of the script.

Thank you for your help and support!

Hello **[AlaaAbdallah](https://forum.itascainternational.com/u/alaaabdallah),**

I am requesting you t share me the updated version of the script which shared to you by Jim Hazzard sir. It will be very helpful if you share with me.

Regards,

Shivam Pandey
