Hi all,

Is there any way to plot the maximum unbalanced force after the model has been solved? I didn’t write any command for recording an unbalanced force history before running the model. But I remember unbalanced force is automatically recorded in UDEC, and am wondering if there is any way to plot it.

Cheers,
Jia

Hi Jia, UDEC provide very good GUI interaction. After resolving the model, I think you can check the plot: contact force: maximum unbalanced force. Or if your model is sav. you can export VTK file and post-process it using Paraview, which require addtional work.

Hi Jinci, thanks a lot for the information. I wonder if it is possible to plot as a history curve. Just like the result from the command: bl mechanical history unbalanced-maximum.

I am not sure what you mean “to plot unbalanced-maximum map as a history curve.”, certainly, once you export spatial data from the map, you process the data, for instance you want to visulize the unbalanced-maximum on a specific point/area, likely you will plot the curve you want.

Apologise for the unclear information. I am actually looking for the curve as below. Commonly, when we use the command ‘bl mechanical his unbal-m’, we can obtain such a curve in the history plot. However, I didn’t use this command before running the model and am seeking some way to grab it after the model is solved.

UDEC no longer automatically assigns an unbalanced force history. This is done explicitly using:
block mechanical history unbalanced-maximum
There is no way to recreate this history after the cycling has occurred..
