P2P Sand Model and Initial Stress Conditions

Hi,

I want to ask a question about the definition of P2P sand model used in the wharf example given in FLAC3D website. The initial stresses are used to determine initial moduli and the following FISH function is proposed to incorporate them.

“zone.stress.xx” gives the total stress with minus sign and “zone.pp” gives pore pressure with plus sign, therefore, the sum will be the effective stress. Am I wrong?
Why do you use “zone.stress.xx+pp” instead of “zone.stress.effective.xx” command? Is there any special reason?

Hello @cgulenc,
You could use the zone.stress.effective FISH intrinsic. It’ll be same thing as in the example.
