What is the most proper Porosity value for modeling concrete in PFC3D and 2D?
Typically PFC users try to build their particle assembly to match the porosity of the concrete (or any material) they are trying to model. That said, it’s generally difficult to do this for low porosity material due to the interstitial (very small) particles that occupy the pore space. The best advice I can offer is too check the porosity of your material after distributing the particles and letting them settle. Measuring a porosity “close” to the actual porosity it usually sufficient.
