Is there an example or step-by-step tutorial on calculating Rayleigh damping parameters for a 1D soil column in effective stress site response analysis? I would like to add a small amount (0.5%) of mass- and stiffness-proportional damping to my model.

I created an Excel sheet to determine the FLAC2D input parameters for Rayleigh damping using two frequencies. You just need to specify the target damping ratio (e.g., 1%) at two chosen frequencies (f1 and f2). The Excel file will then automatically calculate the Rayleigh damping coefficients as well as the corresponding input parameters for FLAC2D. I can share this file with you if you share your e-mail adress. Bcs I cannot send excel file from here, it’s not allowed.
