Hello everyone,

I hope everyone doing well.

I am curious that is there anyone who altered the PFC code to perform PLT on 3D samples?

I was just thinking to change the dimension of the top and bottom walls of the diametral compression test from material support package to modify the walls to behave like spherical points.

Any suggestion would be great!

Hello Enes,
Unfortunately I am not personally aware of existing PLT models already implemented out there. Your suggested approach should work though. You may need to pay attention to the friction coefficient used at the contacts between your walls and the sample to prevent the whole specimen from drifting when the load is applied.

I am using PFC 2D to perform PLT but I think it’s similar in 3D.
