Query Outputs differs from the query points

Dear @itascan
I query 0,0 ,-3, but my model returns results for 5.92119e-16, 5.92119e-16, -3. What could be the reason, and how do I resolve this?

The reason for this is that stresses are stored in and retrieved from zones, not gridpoints. If the gridpoints of your zones are aligned to (0,0,3) then FLAC is giving you the interpolated stress inside the zone as close to your requested location as is functionally possible.

If your zones are 1 x 1 units large in x and y for example then try the following to get the stress from the zone directly:

zone history stress-zz position (0.5, 0.5, -3)

Thank you for your response, Paul.

I tried what you suggested but I observed that the difference between the stress is significant when I get from zone history stress-zz position (0,0,-3) 835 psf which is actually the result from stress at (5.92119e-16, 5.92119e-16, -3) and stress from (0.1, 0.5, -3) which equals to 2106psf.

Interesting. Is the position at the boundary of your grid? Perhaps you could share a screenshot or two of your model.

Hi Paul, Yes, it is 3ft feet below a liner I used as a wall. I put a circle in the area for easy identification. See picture below
