Assignment of several contact models using CMAT

Hello everyone,

In the tutorial “Using the CMAT” different possibilities of assigning contact models to the system are shown, making it possible to assing more than one contact model to the different contact types and also when it is a heterogeneous system of particles.

I would like to ask you if it is possible to assing simultaneously two different Built-in Contact models for each component of the contact force between balls. Meaning, to assing a certain contact model for the normal component and another contact model for the tangential component of contact forces.-

Thank you.

Dear Vic,
no, that is not possible. In PFC 7 one has the ability to write FISH contact models. Though slower than C++ they can be used effectively to put in custom contact models. Otherwise one would need to make a C++ contact model directly.
