Structural Connection Between Concrete Liner and Concrete Volume Elements

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any suggestions / solution on how to model the structural connection between a liner and volume elements for some concrete structures e.g. basement slab modelled as liner element and connected to the concrete basement wall as volume element.

When the two structures are modelled as liner elements theres a node-node link with 6 DOF that can be user controlled for the structural connection. However with the two structures modelled using a liner and volume elements its a node-zone link instead and not sure how to go about modelling that connection.

  • Node–zone links transfer only translational DOFs (no rotational link).
  • You can manually prescribe rotations on structure nodes, even if they are linked to zones.
  • Those rotational constraints act only on the structure element, not on the soil.
