Hi, I am trying to simulate a wetting induced deformation of an embankment. I used FISH function to couple the hydraulic and stress strain behavior using Modified Cam Clay as the mechanical constitutive model and hydraulic equation by Sun etal, (2006). The model is running but the result are not meeting expectation and questionable.
I simulated rain infiltration from the embankment crest, slope face and foundation face opened to the atmosphere. After running the infiltration for 1hr to 24hrs, the base of the embankment is getting more saturated than the top where infiltration is occurring. The top surface where the rain infiltrates through should be more saturated.
Note: The foundation is saturated so it seems it is making capillary rise stronger than infiltration. Please how can I fix this?
